Licensed Withdrawal Advertisement

This Dolce & Gabbana advertisement represents licensed withdrawal and ritualization of subordination. The model looks away from the camera while lounging back on the couch with his legs crossed. The advertisement is also sexualized as the model’s open shirt exposes his chest, the name of the cologne called “the one”.

This Hennessy advertisement falls under licensed withdrawal. Each person is looking away from or past one another. This aversive behavior signifies a certain trust with the stimulus, liquor. The advertisers in this case are attempting to build a sense of trust and loyalty between the customer and Hennessy.
